I am so frustrated with looking for this spectral essence, been trying to go "by the colors" thing...gone around doing quests to check for it, reading and rereading posts...

I knew it, I knew it...TNT had ALL those easy-peasy-tasks, fun-cool-battles to keep us happy distract us :evil:

Now they threw it at us the hard the stuff...I knew I was right shivering after I finished each "easy" task

It was called "Bone Testing Potion." I still have one as a quest item, and hopefully I'll be able to keep it for all enternity now.

I've gone way over 180 on some of my ingredients; I hope it's not like to 300, but I think it'll be something unrelated to the composites. (Actually, that's how I got my round 3 83/82 composite - took one to something like 200/200 and a second to around 120/120, then added a few nothings).

I notice that if the potion has some properties that making it a composite gives it a color, and adding other potions changes the color. So I suspect the spectral essence will show up as a special color- perhaps with a ghost on it. So far I've had two potion mixtures show what looks like steam rising from them, but this could even be the way the spectral essence looks. I am just afraid to try it out and wipe out my hard work on the other composite.

is it fine to leave the page? i have my last composite done thanks to that wonderful tip on the last page, but i dont want to lose it before we get the spectral potion figured out
still have no idea about that, Ive messed around for a bit

I have tried that a couple of times and it didn't work.

It's ok, I left mine alone overnight and they were fine the next day.

I haven't seen too much about this, but it seems that one constant is that everyone needs 25 grams of Spectral Essence. Is that correct? Does anyone else have a different number?

this is just a theory. . .but maybe to get the spectral essence you have to do everything to it's fullest extant. Like, soak it till you can't soak no more and burn it till it can't burn any more.

That's what I've been working on, but we have 6 ingredients but only can use 5. WHICH 5!!! my head hurts. AND it's probably not the right direction anyway.

Edit: Maybe if we take the astronomy club and hit Sophie over the head with it, she'll remember how to make the Spectral Essence......

Has anyone tried to get the same number for all the different properties?
Something along the lines of ...

Conjuring - 48
Divination - 48
Power - 48
Enchantment - 48

I figure it would be hard to do, or to even come up with the right number, but it was just an idea.

I got +1 of everything, but it didn't work. In case it was an outside-the-lab thing, I also tried doing an Edna quest and even playing Chemistry for Beginners (which is a Haunted Woods game), but that didn't work. I think it must be something very deliberate that we have to do in the lab, and I think people could be onto something with the colors, but so far, no luck.
