I got my potions all correct. I threw them in the cauldron.
and?.... NO!

Am I crazy? Didn't I get it correct? the only thing that wasn't EXACTLY on the money was the -406 +/-1, which I got as -405 (that is certainly within 1)
so....

What is UP with that?

Perhaps your -405 was rounded up from 404._

I would recommend getting as close as possible to all of your requirements at this point...Most people found that if it weren't, they would fail...don't know how much that helped, but there it is.

I tried to get all of my components right on the number if possible. I heard so many people have problems with the rounding, that I tried to minimize it.

I just can't bring myself to finish this part of the plot...I have made my first potion and it was quite boring and time consuming. And as far as I can see you can't get into the asylum until you complete the potion part. Am I right?

The SAME thing happened to me. Somehow +/-1 seems to mean nothing and you have to get the values exactly right.

Did you check the rounding? That seems to screw many people up. Keep trying! *cheers on*

Many, many apologies if this has been asked already, but yeah, I really don't have the time to read through all the splits.

So here's my question: how do I make anti-gravitic goo with certain properties?

Here's what I need:

Special: Anti-Gravitic Goo
Quantity: 10 grams
Relevant property: Enchantment
Target value: -406 +/- 1
Relevant property: Power
Target value: +151 +/- 1

I tried using the materials needed for just plain AGG, and getting the enchantment and power values to the right place, but it made it just a normal composite, not AGG. The formula for normal AGG gives this:

Conjuring: +304
Divination: +245
Enchantment: -282
Power: -340

which is nowhere near what I need. So yeah, basically, does anyone know how to get it to work? (I don't need the actual values, just the basic how it works. I like figuring out the values myself :) *math geek*)

Edit// Wow, I'm blind, I jsut realised that it has something on this on the walkthrough. yeah... totally missed that

It's a rounding thing. The numbers they show you are rounded, but they use the exact number to compare against the constraints. So -404.7 shows up as -405, but doesn't satisfy -406 +/-1.

Ahh! This is so confusing! When I make the Spectral Essence with the guide on PPT, it says 25 grams mine says 23 grams, and it needs to have a higher conjuring level then I know how to make. If I could get some help!
I'm stuck really bad, even If I could get some personal help like over MSN, I'm getting aggrivated. :x
Edit: This is for part 4.
I would really like to continue. :)

How about the 3rd part. I feel like i'm just making other people do it. :(
I just really don't understand the logic of this part of the plot.
Composite #3:

Quantity: 12 grams
Relevant property: Divination
Target value: +65 +/- 2
Relevant property: Enchantment
Target value: +103 +/- 2

*cries and cries and cries more*

I am so entirely confused .. I spent ALL DAY trying to figure this out and I just don't get it ... HELP!

*looks aorund with big googly eyes*

I'm at:

Composite #1:

Quantity: 16 grams
Relevant property: Conjuring
Target value: +43 +/- 5

Composite #2:

Quantity: 25 grams
Relevant property: Enchantment
Target value: +82 +/- 5

Composite 2 cannot contain more than 10 grams of any one basic ingredient.

I don't understand how to combine my components to get to 16. I'm so lost!

Note that ALL the numbers on the screen are points per gram. Composite #1 means you should have 43 Conjuring per gram. In other words, have 43*16 = 688 total Conjuring distributed across 16 grams. (Total points = points per gram * grams)

So up the conjuring on a few grams of something, calculate how many total conjuring you have, and see how much left you need. When you combine ingredients together, the total conjuring adds (normally). So if you find you reached your total early, just add in a few zero-conjuring ingredients. Remember you can only add four times, though!
