Battle Royale

#1 Post by Tadashi Rein »

Has anyone seen this film, I recently watched it on You Tube and I thought it was pretty good. I loved the plot the most.

They got movies on YouTube now? o_o
That must be painful to the eyes...

Anyhow I saw it a while ago and thought it was great. I'm debating weather or not to see Battle Royale II. I'm afraid it might ruin the greatness of the first one.

I was in the same boat, but got told by so many people that it was just a huge waste of money that I'm not going to watch it. Might get the first on DVD sometime though.

Saw the first one and liked it (and watched it on YouTube). Unfortunately, some of the files weren't of very good quality so there were bits and pieces of the movie that were a bit blurry and hard to make out. Eventually got me to read the manga, and now I want to read the book. (probably should have started with the book, but eh). Unfortunately, being a movie, though, a lot of development and important things are left out, but at least it's not excessively gory and brimming with nudity (as the manga would).

Oh, and Battle Royale II is terrible, I wouldn't even touch it. >_> It's like the "The Kid's Next Door" cartoon except with blood and real weapons. Though, I must admit. There's this one scene where the guy that's head of the program has this hysterical "evil" face and is munching on his "pills". Absolute gold. xD It's pretty much "Kids hate adults and vice versa, so the they have a war against *spoilers*Shuuya*end spoilers* by taking a bunch of kids and forcing them to kill him off. If that sounds interesting to you, I guarantee that it's a disappointment.

I also after seeing the movie, want to read the manga and buy the book. And I just knew Battle Royale II was going to ruin my whole Battle Royale expirience xD, so I decided not to watch it. Im getting the first one on DVD for my birthday and 2 volumes of the manga cant wait! :)

Saw the film a while back on Sci-fi.
Not all that, in my opinion.

I'd warn you on the manga, it has a +18 rating for a reason. Probably the goriest manga I've read thus far. So yeah, if you aren't offended by brains splattering every which way and obvious adult scenes (there aren't THAT many, but they are there, especially an important scene).

Yeah, there are only maybe 4 or 5 (in 15 volumes). At least 2 of them are actually very important parts of the story (and those parts are rather freaky, at least they were to me. xD). I think it's just Mitsuko that makes the situations very morbid. The rest are minor character developments and not THAT bad, but they can probably be skipped if need be.

I wish I could find this video on DVD, because the Youtube versions are so terrible. -_- Plus, it's better to have the real thing anyway. Can't find it in any store around here.
