Customizing Pets! (split #2)

So I wrote them about the glitch they have going on with the lab and I got an automated response both times that said this (I bolded the words):

For those of you who are having the lab ray glitch, just go to customize and save changes.

I guess my point is that we shouldn't have to do anything to view the changes. We didn't have to before, why should we now?

I don't like what they did to my baby mynci. I don't like her being so tiny. I can hardly see her fer cryin out loud! And what the heck happened to her banana patterned pjs? She's totally nekkid. I do not approve.

All our pets were painted with a shrunken paint brush. I actually suggested this once, but I didn't mean for them to shrink all the pets! Well anyway, I miss my old 150 by 150 images.

It's a mystery alright. We know the Neopets Team does understand that we do like bigger pictures of our pets and not smaller, evidenced by this quote concerning the changes in user lookups:

"Your Neopet(s) are shown off better than ever as they are displayed with a much larger image than before..."

Which by-the-way isn't even true. I mean I guess the image itself might be marginally bigger but our pets themselves have shrunken everywhere including the user lookups.

I never, ever thought I'd be THANKFUL for not being able to afford my Darigan Draik.

Until now!

What I really hate about the Darigan redraws is that a lot of the pets lost their "edge". The Darigan Shoyru used to look cunning... now he looks silly. The Darigan Hissi was sharp-looking (pointy, evilish) and now it just looks like a silly Purple Hissi minus the orange spots. The Darigan Krawk was... robust. Now it's tiny.

I'm getting used to the new site layout, and I'm glad I could change my Faerie Lenny (I know most are keeping their the same... but Poof's just so... "masculine" in my mind... for all he's pretty and his name is Poof)
I like the subtle Uni changes and the updated Peophins.

But it just seems like they smurfed some of the greatest colors: Darigan, Faerie, Grey, and Royal.

I hate thinking like this... but maybe they did this on purpose? It'll lower prices if less people want the pets...

Edited: (Sorry, I'm going down the page of "redraws" that was posted earlier) OMG WHAT DID THEY DO TO THE FAERIE BUZZ!? *sob* Those beautiful wings are gone

The Glowing Buzz is just normal again, too. Those were colors I was eyeing for a Buzz if I got a Fountain Faerie Quest for the av...

After checking out http://www.neopets.com/~shieboo I lay in shock.

I had only seen some changes and I hadn't thought they were sooo bad...now I've changed my mind.
All neopets have lost their personalities, they all have the same ugly plastered smile on their face. I'm not asking for them to look sick or sad like they used...but why have they taken all personality away from them? Can't they dress and have personality?

Which brings me to another thought- I understand the position they are now standing in-standard one arm up position- I guess it's so that one clothing fits all- what I don't understand is why the new tiny winy size. SOme neopets are barely visible- not to mention that many of them look absolutely ridiculous in that size (take the royals for example). Couldn't we dress them and have them in their normal size?

The truth is this is all turning out to be very disappointing... and when are the clothes going to come out? They could at least give us something to dress them in since it's supposed to be possible...but so far-nothing.

By the way, is it just me, or does now the Kyrii look like he's smurf of snarling at you?

The darigan draik does have the option to keep the old version (probably won't help since you didn't have one before they changed though). If they had forced it to changed along with my poor mutant draik (hate the new version

) I likely would have quit especially since their both expensive pets. As it is I'm still hoping (without much hope though) that the mutant draik will be fixed or able to have the old version used again and if it isn't I definitely won't be using neo too much anymore since that was my favorite pet. I sent in a comment about it, telling them the worst parts of the redraw (the arms and lower half of the face) but it doesn't seem like they have much intention of fixing the screwed up pets. You'd think that they'd have to do something though since obviously tons of people hate the new, forced on them pets.

The one-arm-up position is so that they can hold something, not for one clothing fits all.

But I agree about the size and pose issues. They can at least give us some facial expressions to replace the poses.... Unless those are going to be items too, somehow?

Some clothes are already available as painted pets' clothing. But that's it so far.

Lol, my lab pet was zapped into a skeith today, and I swear, she looks like she is driving an invisible car. Skeiths should really be on all fours anyway.

To me, it looks like she's doing a bootie dance. With a game face. I agree; they should be on all fours.

Just like my lutari should be swimming instead of standing on backlegs, grinning like it was just lobotomized. Ugh.

Really? It worked for me. Did you try equipting something (like a background) then saving?

And does anyone know the name of the new lupe items? I'd love to get a cape for mine.

I feel your pain, man. Even if the original Ice Bruce was kinda dull colorwise, it was at least cute and creative in the fact that it was a Brucicle instead of your standard ice pet. Well, with the revamp, they made the art more interesting, but now there's new problems with it that are arguably worse. For one, it's no longer a Brucicle, so I don't know why they bothered to keep the coloring. You can just barely see parts of it melting, and it probably looks better on a lookup or when customizing, but most of the time it's going to be this itty bitty thing that barely looks different from a plain red Bruce.

When going through the redrawn pets again earlier today, I happened upon the Gold pets, and felt much the same way about them as I did about the Ice Bruce. Some actually did look like gold, but most to me looked like they just stuck a few shiny highlights on it, and didn't really bother to make it look metallic. What's the point in buying and using a metallic PB that doesn't look metallic? It might as well just stay yellow.
