Neomia - An offsite Neopets plot

There's this site called 'Neomia'. It's an off-site Neopets plot (mirror world sort-of-thing), where users must complete plot puzzles, fight in wars and complete quests to save their planet from a dark curse!

So, it's a site similiar to Neopets, but is more like an ongoing plot, similiar to those of Neopets. The site has 200+ members and is constantly being updated with more stuff and there are lots of things to collect - neopoints, trophies, avatars, etc.

It looks like a total rip-off of Neopets to me.

So do I. They use the same images, same worlds, Daily Dare, you get the point. They probably should expect an email from the legal department.

yeah, there's a lawsuit waiting to happen. I don't think I'm going to join if it's going to be taken down once neopets gets wind of it.

Maybe it's just a fansite operating a Neopets plot like what they did at TDN and JN.

It would be one thing to run an off-site plot, but to include the exact same avatars and things like that is a little sketchy, IMO.

Yeah. Exact same images, same names, same items, all that. And they even use Daily Dare. That just crosses the line between a fan site and an out right copy.

Can't they get into some legal trouble for this? Pretty much ripping off the site?

A lot. Trademark infringement, copyright infringement, etc.

I dont think it is a fansite, it looks a lot like the actual neopets site itself........I think they would be getting into some sort of legal trouble sometime soon.

I've been to that site before, it's not like neopets completely. Yeah, they use similar things, and a lot of the pictures, but they aren't half as good as neopets, nor are they half as interesting. I lost interest within a week of doing it. If that.
