Best MMORPG

#1 Post by Samuri »

What do y'all think is the best MMORPG and why do you think it's the best. I've been looking in to getting one of those and was wondering what some popular/good ones are. I have looked at a game called 'Lineage 2' or something, and as of now, I will probably be getting that.

That all depends. I can say that FFXI is the best because I play it. ;)

Ragnarok Online!

There's free servers (they're illegal but so what?), you can make your character into one of many different jobs (Mage, Swordsman, Theif, Archer, Merchant, and they go on from there), and the headgears show up on the character as well as the weapon. You can also have certain monsters as cute little pets who follow you around and eventually help you!

Example:

One of my chars and her pet Bongun

So yeah, it's really good. :D

I concur, Ragnarok Online is the only one I play anyway. My character is currently a level 53 thief, maybe we could party sometime :P

What does MMORPG stand for?

I know that RPG stands for Role Playing Game but I don't know the MMO stands for.

The Best RPG in my opinion is Guardian Heroes (on the Sega Saturn) but I am not sure if that a MMORPG game or not.

I am also considering Everquest. There seems to be a lot of hype about it. The only downfall is that I would have to pay 'x' amount per month/year -_-.

Just like all other MMORPGs, you have to pay to play.

I've heard a LOT of bad things about Lineage 2 (a multitude of griefers, a lot of racism against certain countries (and considering its a game out of Korea, the U.S. is one of those `certain countries'))

I play EverQuest, but have been taking a break from it for a while.

Zyrtryx Conjureblade, lvl 52 High Elf Magician, the Rathe server.

I play Runescape., partially because I don't want to pay to play an online game. Runescape's really good.

OT: How much does RO cost?

It depends on whether you play on a private server or the main server, prices vary from paying money to not.

The only real MMORPG that I've played is RO. Of course, someone let me use their account because they wanted me to play and I didn't want to pay (This was a year or so ago). Now that there are free servers... I might have to redownload it and try it out... although I have no idea how to access these servers (will need to look that up). I have no clue how badly it will run and lag on 56k. Not to mention how long it will take to download it....
