Shenkuu River Rush

#1 Post by Pickles »

So, I'm surprised there isn't a topic about this already here!

It's an awesome game, and very addicting, but apparently, I stink at this game. I think I managed to eek out a 119, but then it wouldn't accept my score for some weird reason, but I had actually finished the game (got to the end). How on earth do people get in the 1600s/1700s?!

The only real tip I have is this:
There is a secret level, right after you get the "double jump" (spacebar x2), there's a super jump where you can see a river running under you to your left. If you head off to the right, you can land in that river and go through an insane caves secret level.

Questions:
1) Is there a good guide out for this yet?
2) Does anyone know the secret tricks key orders? Or any other secret levels?
3) What the heck are those strange yattering Gnorbus, and how many of them are there?
4) How do you obtain the "special items" that "enhance" your game play? Rumor has it on the neoboards they've got to be bought in the Shenkuu weaponry shop.

Up, Left, Down, Up is one of the two secret moves. The other one, I don't use anymore, because it seems to be significantly slower.

There is a secret path partway through. Sometime after the description of the double jump, like a minute or so after, you'll see a waterfall off to the left. Hit the super jump orb nearby, and direct your fall towards the waterfall. You'll land in a small, fast-flowing current that goes into a cave under the original path.

My scores tend to be between 300-500. My highest is 501... if I manage to get some of those items. The origin of them is currently unknown; the idea that they come from Wonderous Weaponry is currently speculation, as nobody has them. Also, they must be r99 or higher, or unreleased, as they cannot be searched.

EDIT: Oh, and the Gnorbus don't do anything if you run into them. You just go through them as if they weren't there... so it seems unlikely they have any purpose.

For some reason, left+right+up+down+left 'can' work as a secret move, but it's got one more key than suggested in the menu....

Well at least they took it out. It did give people an unfair advantage.
