Basically since Alex lives in Austrilia it is already September 20, 2007 and since September 20, 2007 is Alex's birthday it is her birthday now over there, that is why we are wishing Alex a happy birthday today rather than tomorrow. (This is at anyone who is confused on why we are wishing a September 20, 2007 birthday on September 19, 2007.)

Depends what might worry you. If indeewd the muahaha is implying something that you'd be worried about, i'd naturally assume you'd want to become worried.
