The movie was really ahead of it's time when it was released, I think.
It still looks pretty good to me. You can tell they are puppets, but it is still pretty good for the 1980s era stuff.

Another thing is, you need to understand that the Skexsis are cruel and the Mystics are kind, but they both originated from the same creature. When the crystal cracked, it was as if the cruel part of the creature became a Skexsis and the other part became a Mystic. If you kill a Skexsis, then a Mystic dies as well, because they are both two sides of the same creature.

Oh yeah, I watched this years ago, so I am watching it over now. If anyone has anything to add that is great. I used to love this movie when I was a kid, but I probably didn't understand everything that was happening.

Some elements of the movie are kind of scary, actually.
