Futurama - Bender's Big Score

#1 Post by Hil »

Has anyone else seen it yet? I'll write up a mini review later.

For those who don't know, Futurama has been renewed - sort of. There will be 4 straight to DVD movies and each movie will be split into 4 episodes for a total of 16 episodes. FOX could also pick up the series again since Comedy Central will just own the syndication rights. Repeats and new episodes (the movies) will begin next year on Comedy Central. If the movies/episodes do well, there is the possibility of renewal - maybe it will be back for good.

It's only available in Region 1 now. (USA and Canada)

I thought it was alright. There were some pretty funny parts, the animation looks like it's gotten better, but it seemed so long. Though that could just be me because we bought it on Wednesday and that was a really long day at work.

I like it. The plot was ridiculously convoluted, and there were a lot of really weird tie-ins, but it was fun. I mean, narwhals, Al Gore, time paradoxes...this thing had everything a nerd could want. There was a major plot point that I figured out early on,
Lars turning out to be Fry,

and that did lessen my enjoyment, but I still liked it a lot.
However, I got the same feeling from it that I got from Jurassic Bark: there's something incredibly sad about the way things turned out.
