I don't believe the auditions, as far as I know, are scripted. I did a quick search on Vote for the Worst, and it didn't really come up with anything from the website, and if the auditions were scripted I believe VftW would be the first to report. I think some of the "confessionals" are scripted, or at least pushed in a certain direction (but they often show that on TV. You know, the part where the contestant goes "You want me to do ____ in front of the camera?")

but there's that one blonde girl, the one who played the keyboard during hollywood week, who I quite like. David Archuleta is ok, but I don't really see him going that far.......
Australian dude just confuses me though........sometimes he's good sometimes he isnt....I'll just have to see how he does.....
I like Brooke White. Although from certain angles she kind of reminds me of Sissy Spacek in Carrie. Really creepy. I feel like she'll snap any moment and wreck havoc on the entire audience with her telekinesis powers.
Well Josiah was never my favorite but he is better than say...Danny Noriega. That guy is the new Sanjaya.
I'm sort of getting bored with this show now. I like David, Michael, Carly, and Brooke but some of the other contestants are just so boring and generic (like Kristy and Kady). Also, I think Amanda should go - she would do much better as a lead singer in a band.

The last episode I watched was the second half of the guys, I think. Who was the first dude who was dancing like a crazed thing while singing? I liked him. The guys with the guitar was... eh. Not so good.
i think that over the year the american idol contestants have just become more and more generic. Pretty much just clones of some other person.....it's actually incredibly boring now.....
