Sometimes a file can corrupt in your Firefox program files and make screwy things happen.
I second the reinstall. Plus, 2.0.0.11 is out, so it might be safer. ^^

And unfortunately, I re-installed it and it still is screwy.

have you tried to update your adware and spybot??
as apparently they have been updated, you might still be on 1.3, instead of 1.5?

Well I have Ad-Aware 2007, and the latest Spybot I believe.
