It changes every time. Notice the guards move differently every time you are caught.
Yeah i did notice that, very creative lol. Well i guess i will just keep trying different things, i had almost made it to the door and bam he turned around and got me darn!

I need a symbol (I'd describe it as a "planet") it is a green vertical oval with a green dot in the middle. Also, My codes have stopped yielding the corresponding result.
On a separate note, I've noticed you don't have to put them in EXACT order. If you have 1,2,3 you can put it 3,2,1; 2,1,3,... You'll get the same result any which way.
The code changes once you get the 7th symbol, also refered to as O. There's an incomplete guide on page 7 of the last plot thread (Under a spoiler on one of Pickle's posts), and those do work for the 7-symbol mods.
I found it easiest when I took out as many guards as possible. They have a tendency to sneak up on you from behind as you go back and forth trying to nab another guard
If you go back and forth between the same spot a few times, you will notice a pattern and can somewhat predict which way they will move/turn. It is different each attempt, though.
This basically reminds me of one crazy game of chess (which I'm horrible at).
Heh... That encryption puzzle took less than a minute to crack... and by crack, I mean without random guessing
HINT:
The modifier "chooses" which character from the key will go in each position. Each modifier character performs an operation on the key to determine that character.
Anyone who played the Myst series should find this kind of thing pretty straight forward.
HINT2:
What are numbers anyways? Aren't they too just symbols
HINT3:
I hope you like linear algebra!
