Vertical Scrolling Stopped Working?

So I have a Mac mouse for my computer and randomly today, in the middle of reading a website, the vertical scrolling with the ball in the middle stopped working. I've tried cleaning to the best of my ability, and there's not really a safe way to open the mouse without the possibility of damaging it. I've shut down my computer, tried changing the mouse settings, and I still can't vertically scroll. Any suggestions?

i had this problem with my mouse. It buggd out while i was playing WoW and I instantly got killed >.<

Did you turn it upside down when you cleaned it?
I did that and it worked perfectly fine after.

I actually went in to the Apple store about a week after it started and I asked them about it. The guy there just said to clean the ball with an alcohol pad. After that, it worked perfectly. It still stops working once in a while though, which is annoying, but then I just clean it again.

yeh, my mouse does the same!
I even went out and got another mouse because i thought I might have broken the previous one only to have one of my friends go "oh here this should work" and he went ahead and cleaned the the scroll ball and got the mouse to work fine.

Wow I felt like an idiot when he did that >.<
