Glad that TNT handled it so quickly and fairly. And announced it in the news. Kudos to them! :)

After a bit of practice (figured it'd be a good idea), I'm back to being able to control everyone. I guess after 2000 games last year, it's not something muscle memory will let you forget. (Of course, it helped once I figured out I was going the opposite direction as last year).
The defenders are definitely more active this year, but so far, the same strategies seem to be working.
And I just scored a 12-0. :D

It's looking more and more to me like you have to have over a certain score in order to see the "trick" Yooyus (Faerie, Darigan, etc). I finally managed a score of 4-1 and saw a Clockwork one. While I kinda see why the programmers would do that, I'm also a little peeved because I think I would actually have an easier time racking up points with the trickier ones.

Then again, that's based on the older game. Maybe this is for my own good.

EDIT: Oooh, dang. I was just looking at the match schedule, and Krawk Island faces off against Mystery Island on the 18th. Man, that's gonna be hard for me, I used to play for MI and still kinda have a soft spot for them.

The first Yooyu is always the normal, unpainted one.
The second Yooyu may be Fire, Snow, or unpainted.
When you get a Clockwork Yooyu and it explodes before a team scores, the next round would also have a Clockwork Yooyu.

I personally think the graphics this year make the game more interesting--I know exactly who I'm using to score.

I was better at the old one, but this will just give me something to practice. And the format won't have as much of an effect on me this year, except to keep me on Neopets for more than a day at a time every few weeks, because it falls entirely outside my school year.

Site not loading for me... I wonder if it's overloaded with people waiting for the start of the cup!

Edit: Now it's working but the cup hasn't gone live... they're not being super efficient about this so far!

Edit2: Working! Good luck everyone...

Incidentally, for those wondering about the avatar, according to Jellyneo it's equivalent to:
  • 50 Games (Wins) of Yooyuball
  • 100 Games (Draws) of Yooyuball
  • 200 Games of Slushie Slinger
  • 334 Games of Make Some Noise

Also, if the game is a bit laggy (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), a quick refresh usually does the trick. good luck everyone.

I read this on the rules page:

"At the conclusion of the double round robin phase, all 16 teams will move on to take part in the four-day finals phase, which will consist of a playoff match-up and a final match-up. Each finals phase match-up lasts for two days. Within each four-team rank grouping (1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-16), the highest and lowest ranked teams will play against each other, while the second and third ranked teams will also pair off, with the winners of each match-up then facing off for first place of that group, and the losers facing off for third place of that group.

The four leading teams overall will still be in contention for a place on the Altador Cup winners' pedestal, but now, a fourth place team could sneak to the top on two wins, and emerge victorious!"

Isn't this different then from last year?

That is different- last year everyone who wasn't a member of the final four signed up to support one of those teams. Also only the top two teams were contenders for the title.

Grrr... the site isn't loading for me so I can't get an 11-0 win to submit.

They comment! The commentators comment at the end on who specifically did what. He said it was a substandard showing by Timu- by which he meant I wasn't always using the one person desginated as a forward for my scoring. (I play 3 + 1, and Altador's default is 1 + 3.)

Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy. I just got my first 10 - 0 win. :D

They have always commentated at the end of the match. The last 2 years, it was just random players. I have not noticed if the commentators are actually saying anything that co-insides with this game either. I am sure it is still all random.

Finally got my avatar!

Total respect to people who played 2000+ games last year, there's no way I could do it- 50 games today was really tough. I think I'll try and aim for 1000+ overall.

I think I'm going to go for 10 games per day. That's half an hour a day, wich is enough for me. :D By the end of the tournement I should have over 300 games played.

So I have to play either 15 games of Slushie Slinger or 24 games of Make Some Noise every day....Ugh, I wish I could actually score a goal in Yooyuball.

Moonwalking yooyuball?

Glitch or easter egg? Either way, made me play a poor round wondering about it :)
Everyone faces their own goal, even the one with yooyu.
