Re: Altador Cup III (2008) - Split 2

Is anyone else trying to make sure they score with a particular player so that they'll have a better shot at being the leading scorer? It'd be a lot more convenient for me to have Jair Tollet bend it like Blumario, but I want to get Blumario himself back on top of the list.

FL was massive team, RI look like children compared to the goliath goalkeeper in FL.

Oh, don't make me quote Spoon lyrics at you. ;)

Man, Tyrannia is really hard to play against. They use the 3-1 position and their players are FAST! I might sit today out and wait for another 2-2 team.

The Altador Cup is becoming more and more of a CHORE. Sure, Yooyuball isn't a bad game, but it becomes boring when you submit 50 scores a day. When I get to Rank 10 or so I'll STOP PLAYING YOOYUBALL. :x

It can. I play and watch Red vs. Blue in the background. :D

o_O Hmm, now I am intrigued! :)

I use to play with the 3+1 setup which meant Tandrak Shaye was getting all the goals, once I realised we had a Goal Scorer Table, I now use the 1+3 setup so Layton Vickles can reach the top.

The 1+3 setup works similar for me, but I still prefer my original setup. I totally fail at the 2+2 setup.

I also have changed the gameplay - before I use to use one player at a time, whomever could score a goal, did. Now, I kick/throw the ball to Layton, so he can score.

TNT have really made this game more interesting - I never would have thought of using different styles or tactics in this game, but now I am really enjoying coming up with different strategies.

Talking of Jair Tollet, I love the fact that she 'flies' across to the ball. She is a crafty little player. :)

Roo Island are quite a formidable team, except maybe for Gordo Gunnels, who always stares at the ball and never picks it up. It really seems to be the Right Defender position is a jinxed spot.

DC are going to have their hands full with RI today.

Here's a little bit of idle pondering. Because there are now officially 17 teams in the league, they have to have one team sit out in each year's Cup.

Do you think they'll actually rotate all of the teams out at some point, in order to be fair? Or will they rotate out only a few of the less "popular" teams?

Or! Will they discover a new land, so that the league ends up having 18 teams and they don't have to come up with any more mechanical failures or disastrous routes to the Cup?

Or maybe I'm being too optimistic in thinking there'll still be an Altador Cup even five years from now. ^.^;

they should sit the least popular team, member-wise, out. That way when that team comes back the following year, they'll more than likely get more members.

If I understand the news correctly, every team is going to be playing every team twice, then the top 4 are picked, then those 4 play each other to decide the champion, and for everyone else who picked one of the bottom 12, you play against other teams in the bottom 12 again in a fight to be best of the worst.

I didn't get to play much at all tonight, just 5 or 6 games. But man, that 2+2 formation was a breeze to break through! Still have yet to score over 6 points a game, though. I must just be destined to suck at Yooyuball. :( Oh well.

Man, Donovan and Beckham, I mean, Cayle and Azar are a great team.

LD-ers, give Beckham, I mean, Azar the ball sometimes. She is usually the harder shooter on the team and can make shots with the slower snow ball from further out than Cayle.

Go LD Galaxy! :P

(The MLS analogy is far better than one for any European league since the ones controlling the ball (us) are amateurs compared to if it were real. [Link being US = amateurs. while the world = Pros])

(I'm going to get killed by MLS fans now aren't I?)

Meridell vs. Darigan Citadel today... it's the most important match so far for Meridell, and we HAVE to win. Darigan's 2+2 formation is easy to break through, and Darigan's bunch would find it much harder against Meridell's 3 forwards.
