Cyanna and Scintilla generously invited myself and my friends Emily and Elissa to share their hotel room at Otakon.
My friends and I waited in line for a good two hours. Sunburn was had by all. We observed both the best and worst of cosplays, as well as a ridiculous number of wolf shirts. (Seriously, where do people buy these? Is there a store somewhere that exclusively sells wolf shirts and dreadful sweaters with kittens on them? Note to self: Find out.) When food was scarce we were forced to eat Robin's minstrels, and there was much rejoicing.

Finally, we were able to register and the real fun began!

VIP-ing it up at the AMV Awards. Both Katie and Pete had entries in the finals so we were generously allowed to use their guest VIP passes. We didn't end up seeing Katie's entry because of The Man and a whole bunch of crap about copyright issues, which had them shut down the entire trailer parody section. I was amazed that we were watching a contest that was made using copyrighted footage synched to copyrighted songs, in a con full of people dressed as copyrighted characters, containing an Artist's Alley that allowed people to sell artwork of copyrighted characters for personal profit, but OH NO TRAILER PARODIES EVERYBODY RUN. Rage ensued.

So, all in all, it was an amazing time. Too bad you weren't there. Cyanna and I plan to meet up again for next year's Otakon, and perhaps discuss our plans for global conquest over a nice cup of tea.

Kinda bittersweet though. I was told it was received really well on Friday and got a lot of lols. But it stinks because that means I actually stood a good chance at winning this year. XD
