I started playing in March of 2001. I was a freshman in college, and I'm pretty sure it was the weekend. I was just surfing the internets and saw an advertisement for Neopets, so I went to the site and I've been playing ever since

I started playing Christmas Day of '02 when my cousin came over and showed me the site. I signed up that day and am still playing on that account

I started playing in October of 2002. I was on the phone with my nephew (I'm assuming for my sister's birthday, which was right before my start date), and he said there was a cool site I should sign up for so we could play games together on-line (for some reason, he really liked Go!Go!Go! at the time). He was almost 11 at the time. Now he doesn't really have time to play because he's a sophomore in high school and taking 3 college-level courses.

Oh, and we only played Go!Go!Go! once because I was on dial-up at the time and he was annoyed that I took so long between turns!

I was a regular in a chat room with some friends, and occasionally the chat would turn to neo because a few of them played it. I knew it existed but wasn't interested in signing up, at least until I got fed up with not being able to relate to what everyone was talking about. I played for about a week but didn't really "get" it so I left for about a year. Came back and haven't stopped since! My neo name is the same as my very first AIM name, and it's been yeeeeeears since I've used that. I guess time has flown.

As for the friends from the chat, only 3 sign on every now and then according to my NFs online thing. One of the others was one of the owners of one of the top pets at the time (firefox40 or something?) but he went off to join the marines and I haven't heard from him since. Another one (maybe two) were kind of cheaters (programs, but not scams). Tons of NP and trophies, but their last known accounts have since been frozen. A few others don't even come up in search anymore, deleted I guess.

I still remember getting so frustrated that I couldn't find the map of Neopia that I had seen once or twice while randomly clicking around. I kept clicking "World" and it wasn't it! Now that I think about it I don't really remember what the "World" part of the sidebar was for.

This was a fun trip down memory lane, thanks for bringing this up

back in...I think...1997 or 1998 I stumbled across is on accident while looking through a yahoo search (google wasnt quite in its glory then). It looked really cute so I joined, just out of something to do. I was a bored middle schooler. They had maybe 5 games, 1 world and about 4 pets to choose from. It was crazy to think that its that same site today.

In 2001 my origional account got hacked while I was on vacation and frozen. After much drama and appeal (and me STILL being mad to this day) I was forced to create a new account...which is the one I still have today.

some friend told me about this website. I was doing a research about online games and i didnt know about browser based. This friend told me neopet was a browsed based... i made my account and play till this days! ^^

When i was a freshmen in high school, this x files fanfic site I adored was super slow in updating (anyone remember crummy geocities websites circa 2001? yeah) so one day, the women who ran the site posted links of her neopets and suggested to people to play neopets. Since it wasn't a real update, I started playing.

7 years later, I have the same account I created that day, one side I created when my account got hacked (I thankfully got my main back, crazy) and half of my pets are the ones I originally made that first afternoon.

Sadly, the fanfic site went under years ago, and I bet that women doesn't play anymore, but I've been sucked in ever since.

I saw my sister playing Neopets, I liked what I saw and that how got into Neopets.

Quite special since it only excisted a year back then.

I was a part of a Sailor Moon community site many many years ago, and Neopets was all the rage back then. I was sitting at work, bored one day about a year ago, and I said "I wonder what that Neopets thing is...maybe I'll take a look around". A year later, I'm still religiously doing my dailies and playing actively.

I started playing back in 2002 -- I just got selected to be an intern at Disney World and tried to meet some people before moving to Florida so that I'd have some friends the first few days. One of the girls on a CP website told me about Neopets - I've been playing it ever since.
