First Sunrise of 2009
Who here saw the first sunrise of the year? Show of hands. Anyone?
I tried staying up for it, but it was too sleepy to do so. So I looked up what time it was supposed to occur and set an alarm. I got up right as it was happening and watched from the yard. I would have liked to head somewhere that would have looked cool, but I sort of got disappointed since all of our beaches in this State face West so I couldn't get the sun over the ocean.
Anywho! What is your story if you saw it (or excuse if you didn't)?

I was awake until 7 AM, but didn't see the sunrise.

I was hassled into it. It was no different than any other sunrise. That was a waste of time I could have used sleeping.

Sorta the same. My nephew's 17th b-day was 12/18, but he's been having a Birthday/New Year "sleepover" for several years now, so I was dozing on the couch/chaperoning (this was the first co-ed year) during the sunrise -- I kinda saw the sky change through the blinds, but didn't actually go to look.

Blue graffitied on my signature... But it made me laugh, so it's all good!

No, I didn't even though up I was up until some stupid hour watching fireworks, drinking too much coke and playing Pit. XDD

Seeing as I didn't go to bed until sometime between 3:30 and 4:00 in the morning, I definitely did not make it a priority to wake up to watch the sun rise

Uhm. No. Definitely missed it. I caught up on my sleep that morning.
Re: First Sunrise of 2009
I was awake but I'm not romantically inclined to care about the first sunrise of the year.
