Well from what I understand, nominations are not revealed for 50 years. It's quite possible that this is not true.

The statutes of the Nobel Foundation restrict disclosure of information about the nominations, whether publicly or privately, for 50 years. The restriction concerns the nominees and nominators, as well as investigations and opinions related to the award of a prize.

This is also stated on the Snopes page:

It's difficult to state categorically that she was "nominated" for the award, since information about Nobel Prize "nominations, investigations, and opinions is kept secret for fifty years."

And according to the Nobel Peace Prize website, those nominated must have contributed in some way within the past year.

In his will, Alfred Nobel laid down that the whole of his remaining realizable estate - by the standards of the time the staggering amount of 31.5 million Swedish crowns (some 1.5 billion at today's rates) - should be invested in safe securities, the interest on which shall be annually distributed in the form of prizes to those who, during the preceding year, shall have conferred the greatest benefit on mankind".

That being said, I have know way of knowing if the committee honours those words. Anyways, take that Snopes article with a proverbial grain of salt.

Given that film of his was about 30% complete lies, 40% statistics, 10% DAMN lies and 20% scare mongering.

Sides, who cares about the Peace Prize, it's the Physics, Chemistry and Biology prizes that are where it's at.
