I can't believe no one's made a post about this yet. Customize your pet and win prizes just for entering. Vote on the semifinalists and get free NP. Of course, you get better prizes if you're selected as a semifinalist/finalist, but that's decided by TNT (and then the voters). There are 3 rounds; the first is closed to entries and will be voted on soon. The second is open for entries.

I wish we could have told a story with it... but I guess it's kind of obvious that she couldn't get a hotel for Usukicon and decided to camp out in the ice cream freezer, still managing to have a good time. Not that TNT will look that closely when they have tons of submissions. *shrugs*

It was kind of fun going through my SDB, picking items that might contribute, and then trying out customization for the first time. Sadly, I have little in the way of items for my "Ready for Adventure" entry next week... I think I might have some in my beach gallery, but I don't know how to tell what's wearable in the gallery.

Anyone know whether there are only 9 total semi-finalists, or if we only get to vote on 9 per day? I was expecting more semi-finalists.

I think those nine are it, dirty. I like how well everything fits together in your Wacky entry, anjuna. Good luck.

I'm working on my Ready for Adventure entry, but I'm still not satisfied with it. (Note: the sunglasses have little moving wipers.)


I found Jellyneo's customization database searchable by species helpful (you can see about what the item costs as well as how it will look on your pet -- independent of other items, unfortunately -- note how the blue codestone lei is nearly completely hidden by the shirt; I was really hoping it would balance the hat and provide a break between the face and shirt), and I really like the fact that thedailyneopets's item database tells you which zone an item fits into (although it's not always complete -- I bought a squid hat that was incompatible with my awesome wiper-sunglasses).

Anyway, back to my entry... I'd love to have something for the left hand (weapon, light source, map, fishing rod, bag of treasure -- just anything) and maybe something for the (upper) background, if I can find something that fits the theme. I'm also not completely satisfied with the toolbox, but I'm not sure what would work better there. I have a "beware of squid" sign, but I can't seem to put it into my closet even though it's listed in both databases as "wearable." I'd love any suggestions people might have (I have 250 NC left, and probably not more than about 100,000 NP to spend -- though if the item's awesome enough, I could go higher on the NP).

ETA: I was a bit disappointed by the Out on the Town finalists, but I have to say I really don't understand several of the Wacky and Weird finalists. Weirdos usually have a method to their madness -- for example, Luna Lovegood was kind of a hippie, so her long hair, plant-based earrings, and recycled necklace of butterbeer caps kind of fit together. But some of these entries look like they just threw random stuff from their SDB together with little thought. *sighs*
