Chef Bonju Found

#1 Post by Sylence »

3 People have it and arent saying and the Neopian times says it'll be ungettable soon for another year so we better think fast.

there are clues in the neopian times editorial

Please, please, please, please, please, PLEASE can you give us a clue to the Chef Bonju mystery?!? My brain is over-confuzzed. Also, does it have anything to do with Puzzle Adventure, and can anyone get it? ~ixiblues
Well, since you asked really nicely... yes, any account is eligible to get the Bonju avatar, and no, it has nothing to do with Puzzle Adventure, but you guys had better be quick! It looks like there's only a few more days left to figure out the combination before the secret of the Bonju avatar is going to remain a mystery for another year. We're offering some clues in this Editorial to help you out because we're nice like that. Also, we don't want to read another year's worth of "How do you get the Bonju avy?" questions to the Editorial. *innocent half-crazed smile*

Better be quick, this avatar won't last,
If your Neopet doesn't know how to cook,
then they'd better learn fast!

Wow. Sounds like it does have something to do with the cooking pot. I guess maybe it's a seasonal thing. Are there any ingredients that are only available certain times of the year? I hope someone unlocks it -- but it's going to be uber-expensive, so I probably won't go for it right away, anyway. I don't mind waiting another year; I'm a lazy avatar collector anyway.

You also need to have your avatar set to the Mad about Orange one for it to work.

Orange Juice has just shot way up too. I swear I sold some for 400 a few weeks ago. I jut bought one for 69,000 and that was a steal.

Looks like it's time to empty the SDB of my extra OJ and blumaroo steaks, then. Woohoo!

ETA: I only have one OJ (I'm assuming it's only orange juice and not "carton of orange juice" that'll work). Should I sell it now? The price has got to drop before next year, and even if it doesn't, it's not exactly a rare item -- I'm sure I can stumble on some again.

ETAA: Huh? I just put my OJ in my shop and started pricing with the SW. It's only about 15-20k. Still ridiculous, but not anywhere near 70k.

Today is not a good day for me all around - online and off. I ended up getting the book for 1.4 million too. As soon as I did it dropped to 800 k. Then something told me to put it in the auctions for 2000000....for two days.
I should have stayed in bed today.

EDIT: Well, Orange Juice is down to about 1000.

BG, I wouldn't panic. I think the prices shot up as all the currently on-line people bought up the supply (i.e., demand increased a lot). Then the hoarders such as myself came on and started emptying their SDB's, increasing the supply. And then many avatar collectors are trying to hold off, hoping to buy it from a shop or seeing where prices will stabilize (hoping they'll keep dropping). I predict, though, that as the deadline draws nearer, those more desperate will start buying them at whatever price they can get, driving the price up again. So I wouldn't panic and sell now -- I think the market will bounce back up a little. Starting the longest auction so that it's set to end a little before midnight on the 31st might help you maximize what you can get (though do people usually bid much on long auctions?).

supply and demand can be a tricky thing just like the mysterious valentine.

I hope you make a good profit!

I hope someone comes along, but I'm not going to hold my breath. As for long auctions - no clue. I forgot all about the auction until a moment before making it. I haven`t auctioned anything in YEARS. I stick to my shop and the occasional trade if I`m lucky enough to get a random event that gives me an item expensive enough.

Does anyone know who the first person to discover the avatar's solution was?
