New plot step.

Click on the third panel (I think; the close-up of the device) for the Shiny Mechanical Faerie Fountain quest item/prize. Last panel directs you to a game to play; presumably, beating the game gets you the fifth quest item, I myself haven't done it yet.

Apparently you have to get 1000 points or over on the game to get the next item. I've only got up to 630 but I'm getting closer every time I play.

Edit: Yup, over 1000 will give you the completely useless "Build Your Own Flying Ship" toy.

The slot #4 item is the one you get from clicking on the comic.
The slot #3 item is the one you get from scoring 1000 points in the "Cloud Raiders" game.

It can be reached through the comic when you mouseover the last panel and then click on the blue popup, or you can go here: http://www.neopets.com/games/play.phtml?game_id=1149

OK, then the previous person incorrectly identified the slot.

I can not imaging doing well on that game with a touchpad.

My only suggestion for the game is to memorize the icon for invincibility, and always get it even if you have to get hurt doing so. Then you can fly through most barriers for quite a while, picking up health-restoring and coin power ups. That and borrow a real mouse to plug into your laptop!

I used a laptop touchpad to clear it. It took some doing, but it worked out after a little practice. Although a mouse would have been much preferable. *shrugs*

If you can't get a mouse, I'm afraid I don't have much advice other than keep practicing. It's doable, just rather unpleasant, and with enough practice shouldn't be too difficult at all.

Even with a mouse I didn't do well. I decided that I didn't enjoy the game enough to keep with it to get a higher score.

Chapter 6 is out...
Read chapter 6....

Then go over to Terror Mountain and click on random locations... Then you should find

I think getting a Moltenore would have been so much better :P

Chapter Seven's up.
Two items to pick up.

Item number one, Steam Horn, is gained by clicking on the horn in Panel 7 (upper far right panel).

Item number two is gained by earning 1000 points in the game "Clara on Ice" (click the last panel to navigate to the game). Also, call me crazy, but I swear this was a different game featuring a different pet just re-purposed for use in this stagnating plot.
Feebly hoping for battles eventually, not quite believing it'll happen.

I want a war plot...

Does anyone have any tips for the new game for the plot? I'm doing good to get 180 points right now...

I suggest taking it slowly and carefully--ignore the timer, it's only for bonus points that you won't get anyway, if you don't finish the level. Hearts are also worth bonus points...and keep you alive.

Explore everywhere you can reach--there are lots of easy gems in the first level that are high up, so climb stuff.

If you wait until a monster starts its jump, you can run under it easier than jumping over it.

On the ice slides, press your left arrow to slow down. Again, take your time.

If you're careful, you should be able to finish the first level with over 900 points. On the second level, running and jumping without stopping is the easiest way past the first few obstacles, which should net you enough gems to get the prize.

Most important tip of all: Once you've sent your score and gotten the prize, close the game and never, ever open this wretched bit of misbegotten Flash abuse again. :p

(It's not bad enough that the plot sucks--the games suck, too.)
