I loved this book so much that I nearly ate it.

I loved An Adventure With Morris Mouse ( a pop-up book about a mouse who wants a new home), The Hungry Caterpillar, a random book of nursery rhymes (All the old ones like Jack Be Nimble and Little Betty Blue), and the Topsy and Tim books. 8D

I had a really old Grimms Fairy Tales book... the stories were different from the watered down versions these day - but I loved that book.

I loved reading/being read James Stevenson's "Monty" and "Will You Please Feed Our Cat" when I was little. Today, I'll sometimes stop for a breather and read a copy I come across when cleaning up my room.

I also had a collection of Grimm's fairy tales, but for these purposes I'm going to say that anything thicker than my sideways hand or with chapters isn't kosher.

There was a book about noses I was wild for. I forget what it was called, unless it was just The Nose Book, but... yeah, I just have a nose fixation. There was also a biography of Louis Pasteur; I later found out that it was part of a series that mostly gave historical figures creepy imaginary friends (Ben Franklin had a talking clock; Marie Curie had a pretty butterfly) but fortunately, the Louis Pasteur book was free of such madness. And it infected my subconscious for years with the idea that bacteria are sentient, but never mind that.

One of the ones I can think of right now is Stellaluna, about a baby bat who's raised by birds.

The same author also did one about an amazon snake, called Verdi, but I don't remember that one as well.

I loved the Butter Battle Book also.

When I got into chapter books it was survival-themed ones I liked -- Pathki Nana, The Hatchet (Brian's Winter was better) etc. Like pretty much every kid in my school, I read a ton of Ken Thomasma (Soun Tetoken was also good!) and Brian Jacques (Try reading one without getting really hungry. It doesn't work.)

Also Animorphs oh god I still love Animorphs.

I know I liked picture books better, but I can't think of too many off the top of my head. There was one with a witch who turned a bunch of children into food... A google result tells me it is called Heckedy Peg.

My favorite book for years and years was The Fire Cat. Now that I've got a kid of my own, I read it to her. I don't think she quite understands it, yet, and it's 50-some pages, so it's a longer book than she's used to.
