Re: NEW PLOT!! The Faeries' Ruin
Are most plots this way? Read a comic, sometimes do a plot step and complete achievements, then browse the prise shop? How do you earn plot points anyway?
Re: NEW PLOT!! The Faeries' Ruin
Yeah, this is pretty much how it's gone lately. This plot seemed to have more chapters per step, but it's been pretty consistent with the plots since 2003 or so.domo_hello_kitty wrote:Are most plots this way? You earn plot points by completing specific steps within the plot - battledoming, completing quests, solving puzzles - the more you do, the more points you get.

Re: NEW PLOT!! The Faeries' Ruin
Oh, man. I completed every achievement except The Goo Whisperer and all the Battledome ones. Is that pretty good?
Re: NEW PLOT!! The Faeries' Ruin
That's pretty good, Domo. I'm not sure if you'll get more points for repeating certain steps more than others did (e.g., repairing the barrier, finding spells, or throwing insults).
You do have until midnight NST Friday night (i.e., the start of the new year) to finish up any achievements you've missed -- such as the Goo Whisperer and the Oblivion ones. I'd recommend it. The top prizes are often very nice (rare paintbrush, nice weapon -- such as Ylana's Blaster or Ring of the Lost), and it'd be disappointing to barely miss out on it when you could have done a little more. Or even if you do qualify, it's nice to be able to buy some of the other prizes, too.
[Note: I have no knowledge of TFR's plot point distribution or prize shop. I'm not saying there will be a paintbrush or good weapon; certain plots did not have the greatest prizes. TNT can reward us however they see fit.]

Blue graffitied on my signature... But it made me laugh, so it's all good!
Re: NEW PLOT!! The Faeries' Ruin
I don't think you can still get the battledome achievements, as the challengers aren't in the battledome any more (as far as I am aware). You can still get the puzzle achievements, though.
I'm expecting something like the one-use robot zappermajig from theDoctor Sloth's Electric Boogaloo Return of Doctor Sloth plot - a one use ticket for the rainbow fountain. I'd be sorely tempted by that, actually.
Poor Mr. Insane, though, having to code the prize points.

Re: NEW PLOT!! The Faeries' Ruin
One of the prizes for the Lost Desert plot was a desert paint brush; for Tale of Woe, they had a ghost paint brush. The only reason tRoDS had the zappermajig was because there is no robot paint brush -- note that you only had one choice of color. A free trip to the Fountain Faerie, while nice, would also be a bit extravagant, I think.
Faerie paint brushes are so expensive, I doubt TNT would make even that a prize. But then what could they offer us? Speckled? Too cheap. Maybe relic? But that's really expensive, too. Hmm. I'd be surprised if there isn't something. Maybe a faerie petpet paint brush instead? Waiting for prizes is nerve-racking; this is the first full-scale plot for which I've completed every single step.

Ghost paint brushes were expensive before they made them a plot prize.
Anyway, the robot zappermajig was a non-tradeable item. I foresee a prize like that.

Re: NEW PLOT!! The Faeries' Ruin
A rainbow fountain ticket which would be non-tradeable maybe? I hope there is a powerful battledome item though, that's mainly what I want.

Re: NEW PLOT!! The Faeries' Ruin
Jan 9: I could use a Battledome item. I wonder what we'll get. Hopefully, the achievements earned us lots of plot points.

So, they're apparently still working on scores. This had better be a good prize shop, or I'm going to be disappointed based solely on the waiting period.

Re: NEW PLOT!! The Faeries' Ruin
It hasn't really been all *that* long. Wasn't LDP several months? Or was that Return of Sloth?

Re: NEW PLOT!! The Faeries' Ruin
I hope it won't take several months. Also, the New Features has something about the possible site theme.
Regarding the The Faeries' Ruin update: We are done tallying the scores and art for the prizes are complete. However, we are still trying to work on balancing the cost of each item so everyone gets their fair share of prizes. As we are still calculating, our estimated prize shop and epilogue arrival date is Wednesday, January 26th. To tide you over a little, we wanted to give you a little preview of a few of the prizes that you will be able to redeem once the shop goes live. Thanks for your patience, everybody!

I was wondering. So Wednesday should be the day.
