As long as it's about 50+% creamer I like it. French vanilla and hazel nut are the best, imo.

I've gotta say there's not a huge spectrum here.

Personally, I pride myself on my coffee making. I come from a long line of obsessive compulsive coffeeheads. My mother has been known to go through several coffee pots a year. I just use my good ol' french press. Simple.

Rule #1 - the more coffee you use the less bitter it is when drinking it straight. (I have my coffee black when I'm eating a cookie, ie. something sweet).
Rule #2 - mo' hotter, mo' better. Sugar/sweetner goes in first so there's not a puddle of syrup at the bottom. If there's cream involved it should be heated so you don't have a luke warm cup (heck, my mom even heats her cup!).

There isn't much more to that for me and yet I feel like I get a different cup every time. Cappucino is just a frothed milk extra. I'll have an espresso if I'm dying for a good cup of coffee when I'm out somewhere, but I trust my little buddy the french press. Latte is pretty far down on my list because I just don't like the taste of hot milk over whole cream.

Flavors are nice for special times... I'll have an Irish coffee on Christmas morning, or a hazelnut creamer when I'm feeling decadent, but other than that I believe flavor shouldn't rule your coffee (except for the flavor of the coffee itself).

Did you know the roasting process helps determine the final ratio of caffiene in your cup? The more they roast it the less caffiene is in it!

Having said all that, I'll still never turn down a cup of java... even from a thermos in a grocery store!

Nowadays, a cup of coffee that is made in a single cup is almost being a unique thing. People, in these recent days, will prefer drinking coffee in a coffee-shop to making it by their own in their home. Drinking coffee from a traditional and ordinary cup is also being hard to get. A plastic cup will be more suitable for now. However, everyone who really likes coffee should know that there is a big difference between drinking coffee from a glass made cup and from a plastic cup. At least there are some different sensations in it. Besides, drinking something hot from a plastic cup would not be recommended by doctors.

I've finally gotten to the point of drinking coffee black. and here I thought I would never be able to appreciate it. Not bad if it's a good blend. Bitter when cold though.

I prefer my coffee to be black, unless it's just plain nasty (generally meaning way too bitter or with a bad aftertaste). I'm currently enjoying a self-mixed blend of freshly ground extra-dark road beans with some "dark roast" beans which aren't really - hence the mix. Personally, the darker and richer the coffee is the better. I've started going with the espresso at the local coffee places, too.

I agree with Samantha that coffee is much better when it is in a nice ceramic mug vs. paper (ok) or foam (not ok).

I'll also admit that I made a pilgrimage to the original Starbucks in Seattle during my last vacation. And, yes, I just got a "medium coffee". LOL.

I prefer my coffee to be doused in milk/cream and sugar. It's really more like sweetened milk with coffee thrown in there. Yum.

I agree. It's got a weird texture to it.

I don't usually drink tea, but if I do, I prefer English Breakfast. With a splash of milk in the cup first. It does make a difference.

But...is Chai Tea even considered coffee because it being tea? And just so I can verify, the difference between coffee and tea is that coffee is water heated and poured through ground beans, while tea is ground herbs? Please correct this man who never bothered to check Wikipedia before posting this...and will refuse to do so after so others will need to answer.

Tea isn't herbs... it's a tree leaf, whilst a herb is part of a plant that is used for cookig and other stuff.

Technically, if a tree is a plant, would tea be just a drink made of herbs? And coffee is made from the roasted seeds that water ran through, which by def. an herb is any part of a plant that has a use, so is coffee and tea both herbal drinks that taste different?

Moving off the topic of tea... my favorite way to make coffee:

1. Brew coffee normally. Dark roasts are best. 2x strength for iced. French press!
2. 1 T. of condensed milk (vietnamese-style) and 1 T. of evaporated milk in a mug.
3. Pour coffee over (and hopefully into) mug and stir.

Sip and swoon.
