Now I just need the Thieves' Guild and I'll be set. It should get interesting from here on out trying to guess the winner. I chose the bank interest because I'm not sure how many spins I'll be able to get in this week. I actually remembered to check before doing my dailies today.

My intelligence is higher than my strength, but since I'm already at the second-to-last strength boost and have beaten all the avvie/DON challengers... there's no point in getting that boost.

I would imagine that the intelligence/str swap is just for the length of the boon, but I could be wrong. Seems like a ridiculously powerful boon otherwise.

While my Int is higher than my str...I'm actually past the last str boost, so swapping them would just make my pet dumber, which would be silly.

Oh, I know, Pickles. It's not actually a swap; it's a once-per-battle ability that uses your INT instead of your STR to determine the boost. It would only be worth it if you wanted an avatar, really (unless they fix DON this week), so it seems pretty silly to me (actually, all the BD ones do, really).

I also realized that whichever to which faction you currently belong is the one shown on your Player Stats for the Obelisk War! This means after I get the Brutes win, I need to revert back to Thieves Guild for posterity sake.

Your actual Obelisk War stats do not change. They are listed here:

Each Skirmish battle has its own tallyboard for that skirmish and is replaced with the new skirmish. This page changes when the boons are over and you need to choose another team.

It looks like the guild banner changes while you are temporarily signed up with a different faction. This page showed me as a Seeker last week. Today, it is properly showing me in the Thieves Guild.

My pet's intelligence is much higher than strength (thanks to the book boon), but if DON is still broken, it won't do me any good, as that would be the only reason I'd be in the Battledome this week.

Heh, when I first posted, I'd only checked SN (as they always post the winners and link to their info on their front page, whereas JN doesn't). But I agree, all of the battledome boons seem pretty silly. You'd think you'd want them WHILE you're battling for the obelisk...not on a regular day-to-day basis. But then, I guess if you were going for DON or some avvies, that'd be different. Pretty sure I took care of all that before the old Battledome went away.

Ahhh, I see. Yeah, it seems to be only for the time you are signed up, once the skirmish is over it reverts back. I can see my Order banner.

SKIRMISH 8 - Awakened, Brutes, Thieves.

I still need thieves, so that is who I am choosing.

No idea what the BDC is up to. I am thinking many will go with thieves, as the last time they lost. But......there is a group being formed to deliberately go against the bandwagon. This group is being formed by (a well-known) battle elitist who (for whatever reason) wants to prove a point that it is the battlers who decide the wins and not the AC who that absolutely detest. (Talk about a rivalry, to me it is so stupid!).

I'm going with the Thieves, since I also still need it. Well, I'll do as many battles as I can, I suppose. I hope a number of other battlers who still need the avatar do the same.

I'm torn on who to go with at this point. I'm leaning toward Thieves, but that is what the bandwagon seems to be ATM, and I'm sure that the battle elitist will go through and try to take them down. Maybe, if I have time, I'll put in some good numbers this weekend. I guess we'll see how prepping for visitors goes. And how I'm feeling. And all that good stuff.

ETA: I joined Thieves. Figured I'd stick with my original team. Plus the boons are good.

Daze, any word on whom the "battle elites" joined? Should I fight more against the twins or the brutes?

Unfortunately they went to the Brutes (sorry Blue).

So I have only been battling Commander Flint. I think this may be the only strategy to work, as that is what the Brutes done to Thieves by only fighting Kanrik.
