Staff Tournament Is there going to be a Staff Tournament during the Altador Cup this year? Yup, and we're excited to introduce you to some new faces. The brainwashing portrait drawing is almost complete.
Apparently sign-ups weren't working for anyone who has played all 10 years...and now Neo is down.
When I actually can, I'll be joining Roo Island, though I'm not sure how much I'll actually be able to play due to Real Life this year. I guess we'll see.
ETA: Neo is back up, but when I attempt to join Roo, I get a blank screen. Guess that glitch isn't fixed yet...
ETA2: Apparently it's fixed. Kinda. I was able to join. It said I'd done 8 years and gave me the same prize shown as last year...but it actually awarded me the "correct" new prize:

I joined Kreludor. But I've already put in over 40 hours at work since Monday, and I'm not done for the day yet, so I haven't actually gotten to play yet...

I've played a few. My main goal is to beat my rank from the last Altador Cup-- ie, I wish to attain Rank 5. Though I'm going to be at Disney World for a whole week of the cup...
I've played none. Let's just say I've been ridiculously busy this week. Likely that'll go for the next two weeks, as well. I'll be lucky if I mange to get to rank 1 for this cup.
CW, have fun at Disney World. I hope it's not too crowded the week you're there. The Florida schools around that area just got out Wednesday.

Thanks, P! I also went with those who made it through with one exception: I went with Lawyerbot instead Señor Malo.
I don't know if Lawyerbot is the same lawyer as last year (and it would make sense that JS has their own lawyers), but he looks the same and he did very well last year.
I will also admit that as I clicked through the newbies, I said to myself, "who are these people?"
I'm currently rank 2, but haven't played at all today yet -- and I plan to do lots of low-scoring multitasking to get at least 2 more ranks. Worked over 80 hours this week, so I'm impressed I made it to 2 already.
I went with Senormalo, Lawyerbot, Bancha, Droplet, and Breik.
Not sure about Droplet; I may change her out. I'm a bit weary of Lawyerbot; he's inconsistent, but so is DJ... It's not new TNT's fault; they've been handed a pile of doo-doo and little resources, but still... they've really disappointed me. And so I'm sticking with the old guard as much as possible. I just don't remember Droplet at all...

Well, it looks like I too have been let go. I have sent instructions on how to run the NT to the Jumpstart staff, so it's possible they can continue it. I hope so! For me, running the Neopian Times was one of the best things I've ever gotten to do and I'm immeasurably grateful to have had the opportunity. You were awesome to work with, guys. You made Neopets more than just a game site. You gave it life and made it a community. I was constantly impressed by your cleverness, your fierce loyalty, your dedication. Thanks for making it fun to come to work every day!

I hit rank 7 yesterday. Won't get to play much during the week, so I got what I could get done this weekend without going overboard. Good thing I figured out how to maximize rank points per minute last year (play YYB and SOSD at the same time -- they tend not to score while you're in the other tab; you can also throw in SS, but only if you plan to max SOSD -- it's a little slower than the other two).

I was so *hopeful* when JumpStart bought Neopets...
I haven't even managed Rank 1 yet, because I am battling depression and job hunting and I will be in Disney World next week. I'm starting to think my ambition for this year is going to be just making Rank 1.
