Item Duping

I was just on the site, visited the premium board, then the BD chat, and AC. This is just a heads-up. Someone has somehow duplicated alot of items - everything from codestones to T-Tears and faerie Slingshots.

They're showing up on the money tree, in trades, auctions and shops. Also, some people (especially if they're "Known") are being sent these items. People are being frozen just for having a duped item. Apparently a decent amount of people too.

Please, go to site preferences, block everything so that only neofriends can contact you. Stay away from the money tree and personally, I'm not going to buy anything until this blows over.

If you should get an item that you know is expensive or if you have any doubt, but the item in a trade with a note to TNT to please delete the item if there is anything wrong with it. Do NOT give away, sell, trade or discard anything you get, let staff deal with it. Also contact Support and give them all the details (there were grey pb showing up at the Money Tree) ... so let's say you got one of those. Put it in a trade, for TNT only and write to support letting them know where you got the pb, where it is now, that it is in a trade for them to look into.

I'm sitting here watching the Money Tree, and they're duping all kinds of stuff. I've seen PB's, PPPB's, and lots of weapons.

I set it so that only NF's can send me items, and I'm just not buying anything until this is over.

EC, I am so thankful that youve posted this after being frozen for trading unknowlingly scammed items , I was just about to go back and check out the trades, ( Ive been scared to even go there since being unfrozen) and I decided to come to ppt to read the posts first.

and finding this... UGHH... I went to check it out, and sure enough ppl selling bunches of lab maps that appear to be duped.. OMG.

Thank God I came here first It could have happened to me again.

I did write back to TNT and asked how I could avoid what happened to me happening again, and got this reply.

I have checked your trades and it seems that you were trading with someone that had previously scammed another user. I understand that this is absolutely beyond your control and we also can see that just by looking at your trades! I guess there really is nothing that you can do to safeguard your account by using the trading post.

So thats coming straight from TNT..

Please be careful on there everyone, as TNT say there is no safe way to trade there.

certainly not a safe place, Im off to try my hand at restocking (which Im useless at BTW)

Well the people I've seen donating neggs in the money tree isn't the person who sent me the crazy expensive item (Sword of Skardsen), so I'm feeling somewhat relieved. Plus my friend swore to me he didn't dupe, and he is rich (awesome restocker with 2 fire draiks), so yeah, not too scared...

I suggest reporting as many names as you can see--at least those giving away these items on the money tree. The more people that tell Neo about it, the more importance it will carry, and the faster it will get resolved.

I just feel sorry for the people who really didn't know any better. Hopefully, Neo will be able to differentiate between the fakes and the reals and wipe out the facts. Or, *shudder*, do a roll back. If that is a possibility, it is probably a good idea not to move a thing right now. I have been a victim of two roll backs--no fun, whatsoever!

Im sick of this... forget being frozen, if I lose my items Im quitting neopets. Ive been getting scammed on the trading post for years and they still cant fix anything. the security on the site is a joke

Thanks for the heads up EC, I blocked all non-neofriend items just to be safe. I'm not known anywhere by any means but it doesn't hurt to be careful I guess. I've been watching the Money Tree, but the most expensive thing I've seen go by was a Scarab Ring... Hope that's a good sign that they're cleaning this all up as we speak.

I've been watching the money tree and trades and such and it isnt as bad now as it was ealier... I blocked recieving items from everyone but neofriends and am not doing trades or anything right now...

One of the dupers I noticed through the money tree is now frozen so I'm assuming they're on the game now
