Best Musical Movies!

#1 Post by Fiddelysquat »

You know there are some pretty good movies out there that are musicals. My personal favorite is probably Labyrinth. (Endearingly hokey AND David Bowie in those pants? Where do I sign up?)

Never seen that one, but I love my copy of Muppet Christmas Carol. "Only One More Sleep 'Til Christmas" is one of my favorite Christmas songs.

Chicago, was a fun and exciting movie.
Rent, afterwards I went home and searched for lyrics, and did the whole "OMG MUST LEARN RENT SONGS" phase. So that's a good sign that something is working in the movie.

Fidds. No. Those pants were just WRONG.

Aside from that, Bowie = awesome. Labyrinth = awesome.

"You remind me of the babe, the babe with power..."

I love that movie too. ^_^ I need to get the DVD, I've only got the VHS, and our VCR is on its last leg.

As for another, I was quite fond of Moulin Rouge, and though not as good, Down with Love was cute at least (that had a few musical numbers, right? I'm not imagining things?)

The Muppet Movie, The Muppets Take Manhatten, and the Great Muppet Caper are cute too, and such great memories from my childhood. I frequently get the "Can You Picture That" stuck in my head. :P

Moulin Rouge - It is just plain great.

West Side Story - How can you NOT love that movie!

Little Shop Of Horrors - One of the best films I've seen yet.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - Because it's fun to show your 4 year old little cousin the bit with the child catcher.

Me too! I had that song stuck in my head for so long after I watched it for the first time.

Erm... Cannibal: The Musical?! I love "Let's Build a Snowman". The tagline from IMDB is also funny - "All Singing! All Dancing! All Flesh Eating!" :D

Oh, of course, Rocky Horror Picture Show!
