Quickref Changes

Now your active pet is on the left, and huge (it's the big flash version that's on pet lookups). I hate it. Not only does it look stupid (I liked all my pets the same size, and I never had trouble telling which was active), but it makes it a pain to switch between pets for fishing, and it's just generally annoying to have yet another page where we have to load flash images. Why can't they leave things alone?

Aw, man. I agree with you both on that one too. In addition to it being hard to switch for things like fishing, it's implying that the active pet is more important than the rest of your pets, just because it's bigger.

In all seriousnes, though, I'm seriously hoping that the "old" way will be an option.

I'll second that sentiment. Plus I agree with all the rest of what you said about yet more Flash and the continuing pattern of unease of use lately.

EDIT: Not to mention it doesn't even seem to be working properly. I can't even see my new Flash active pet.

What a coincidence. Just today I was reading that page and thinking 'when are they going to update that paragraph that says your active pet is in bold and the others are faded? Its just got a gray background now.'

The big flash image is eh. I always keep my ugly pet active for fear of Boochi and stuff, so now I have to see it there all big and flashy. At least make them all the same size so my cute pets arent neglected tiny things.

Well...there *was* a thread complaining about the smaller pet images on the page after the site revamp, so this might be TNT's answer to it.

I assume that the people who complained wanted all of their pets the same, slightly larger size (like they were before the revamp), not their active pet huge while the rest are small. Ugh.

Another ugly change.
You know, they redid the layouts to be 1024x768-sized, but then they left all this blank space all over the page because the images were all done to fit 800x600 pages. Now they're trying to fill that space, but they just choose such hideous ways to fill it!
Yes, I like being able to see my pet without squinting. But I also keep my lab pet(whose appearance is unimportant to me) as my active pet to shield from color-changing REs. How's this helping me?
I think, if they really wanted to fill this blank space, it would've looked better to resize all four pets to be the same size, instead of just blowing one up. This way unbalances the page, and makes it look like someone just said, "Quick, we need to fill space before someone complains that the page looks empty!"

I know I complained about how tiny all the pet pictures were...but I'd rather have them all the same size. Plus flash takes a little bit to load and it's irritating to me.

Why the heck are they spending their time on such pointless little details? Even if it was gorgeous and somewhat useful, changing the quickref page should not have been on top of their list of priorities. Ugh. Nothing they've done since April has made sense.

Since I don't have any other pets, the quick ref still looks ok for me. And since PNG is blocked from my office, this feature allows me to see how my pet looks like. Of course there is always the customization page to see my pet, but it loads slower than the quick ref.

Um, I just logged into my side account to zap my lab pet (also my active pet) and on the pet sidebar thing, there was no picture, but instead a grey cog..and when I clicked on her to go to quick ref, her image showed up as the active pet, then switched to the grey cog. It also did this on the log in page. If I switch my active pet, there is no grey cog, but it still shows up for Zanvi. Maybe they have something against Yellow Blumaroos, I don't know. :/

Oh, fabulous. Now I can't even SEE my active pet from work, where I play Neopets most. I get my three other pets all tiny like normal, but instead of my active pet is an ugly message telling me to install Flash. I CAN'T install Flash. Aaargh!

As if there weren't enough other things screaming for updates. And I just learned about 'Neocash' as well, which I really wanted to believe was a joke, so I'm not very happy about Neopets today.
