Stolen Account!! What should I do??

I got this email just a few minutes ago:

Dear User,

I have stolen your account, with your beautiful pets and that amazing honey potion.

But I can see that you have spent a lot of time on it, so I will give you one condition. The account will be returned to you except that I will take the honey potion and all your np's in your bank.

However, there is a PIN on your account which is stopping me from taking your bank neopoints, very clever.


So here's the deal, you tell me the PIN, I will take exactly 2 million neopoints (2,000,000) and the honey potion, and after that, your account will be returned to you.

You have nothing to lose by doing this, but I have everything to gain if you don't.

I wait for your reply.

I'm so worried. He changed my PW and email too...I really don't want to lose all that I've earned so far.

Is it possible for me to get my account back? Should I forward that email to TNT?? Help!!

First of all, take a deep breath. I'm sorry that this happened to you. Do you have any idea how the person got ahold of your p/w to begin with? You should immediately contact Neopets and forward the email/neomail to them. Copy and paste it into the report form. It'll probably take a while for them to straighten it out. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

email neopets ASAP and give them every single little detail. I cant promise theyll be able to help, but they might be able to catch who did it.

make sure you show them the email, tell them what items you had and are missing. everything.

hackers are terrible creatures. I lost my 1st account to one.

Definitely do what the others have said...contact TNT ASAP and include as much information as possible. You can paste the message you received into your report, and perhaps offered to forward them the message (if it was an email) if they request it. Hopefully, in time, you will get your account and pets back.

Did you give him your PIN? How could he take everything without it, I'm positive it locks you out after so many tries.

TNT should really make it so that if your password is changed, your email cannot be changed for one week, and vice versa. That would really stop a lot of this nonsense.

I reported it to TNT.

I have no idea how he got my password. (it had numbers, CAPITAL, and lowercase letters...)
The PIN thing is ridiculous because once he changed the email, he found out my PIN, thus taking everything. I worked so hard and now it's all gone. I haven't gotten a chance to login to my account today after the scam, but I really hope he didn't see my stock market portfolio. I have even more invested in there.

So much for all my dream paintbrushes...I guess it's time to start from scratch again. *sighs*

Did you click on the scam link from earlier this morning? The scammer came back briefly and claimed he stole your account.

Awwww {big huggles} I still can't believe they came back and actually posted on this thread (was removed when the mods took care of him/her) that they "figured out your pin fine on my own thank you" or something to that effect. What a {insert all sorts of different words inappropriate to PPT here}!!

but you should see if Kym can help you out reporting the guy, espically he posted on here. ISP addresses can be tracked and blocked. Hacking isnt taken lightly on some sites. look at myspace. they are actually sueing people who hack.

Hey Zilary sooooo sorry about what happened to you, but you can..... ummm sorry I can't say this in public. Anyway good luck. Once I fell to a scam and lost 200k EASILY! Well to be honest I was far too stupid the scammer said give me all you have and I'll give you a lab map and I fell for it. Ahh but with the help of my friend we earned all of it back.
