Harry Potter DaDA game... impossible!

Seriously, this game is impossible.

I do the thing right, and I don't get credit for it. Even the easy ones, I might get it the first time and do it exactly teh same the second time and not get credit for it.

GRRRRRRRRRR.

Any hints though?

It frustrates me, too. I think you have to draw the spell exactly how its shown, with everything being the right length and in the right place, though it isn't at all easy.

I wonder if it is random. I've tried everythign I can think of. Exactness, location, and speed all fail me. My BF tries, and gets a hit with the worse formed patronus I could imagine. I really would love a guide on what actually counts in this game.

I'm pretty sure speed has something to do with it. All the symbols I get correctly are the ones I do fast. Although the reverse isn't true, obviously. It's possible there's an element of randomness to it.

Nah, it's proportional. The spell could have been as small as the figure given at the top right corner, or as large as the entire window...
I've tried both, and both works.

Moreover, the 'where' doesn't matter, as long as the pattern is inside the window...


It's the 'thunder bolt / sowilo'' and 'triangle' shaped ones, and to a lesser extent, the patronus charm [pi shaped], that speed matters most, [ as in the time spent holding the mouse - not the time lapse between two spells ]. For the rest, try to finish the design in 1-3 seconds....

..and I've tried tracing the spell on the figure provided - it only makes hitting the target harder.


This game's actually a pretty easy 3000NPs per day, after you've gotten the hang of it. [Which translates to needing 12-20 attempts to kill the mannequin...with regular misses with patronus (around 1 out of 2) and incendios (around 2 out of 3)...]

Ok, so I managed to score 104 points using Jerch's advice to go fast. However, I have yet to get an expecto patronum to work, and I've certainly had my share of trying: one time I got five in a row...and more after.

I am absolutely shocking at this game. And it seems to be quite a hit and miss for me (no pun intended) most of the time - one time I can do the spells perfectly - the next time they come up I have no chance in hell of them working x.x

I'm having a horrible time with this game. I've been able to get Impedimenta and Protega pretty much every time now, but I can't get any of the others. I've tried going fast and I've tried taking my time. It's just not working for me. Please, does anyone have any other advice other than to do it fast? Unless that's my best chance...

Despite it being of 'evil' Harry Potter I actually like this game. I find you really have to be quite accurate, but I have a hard time telling what the arrows are trying to indicate or allow because sometimes it seems as if my swirls are not swirly enough for it or something. There are only two that I almost can never get but some are certainly easier than others. And I even use a roller ball mouse. I imagine a stylus would be perfect for this game. My best advice is to maximize the window so you have almost a 'full screen' to write on. Make the shapes rather large but as accurate as you can draw and in decent timing (or it will time out). My best score ever was a rather lucky 488 in 11/20 attempts, but normally I can at least get the few hundred or so points to get 1k Neopoints.

EDIT: Yay, I just beat my own HS with a 516 in 11/20 attempts. And finally got Incendio as I was having trouble with some of the 'swirls' in the arrow directions.

Yea, this game is incredibly hard. I find it even harder on a laptop, lol. I'm borrowing my boyfriend's sister's computer right now, and it is so impossible. I think I only nailed 3 out of the 20 spells they asked me to do.

Practice makes perfect on this game-or, well, somewhat perfect...

You have to be precise. Size doesn’t matter, just make the proportions the same, and copy the loopy things as close to the same. Speed seems to help, for whatever reason. I've only nailed the Expecto Patronum spell twice. TWICE. And there are a few others that I almost always get right, a few more that I sometimes get right, and a couple more that fall in the EP category. D:

This games not impossible…just really, really annoying.
