There's always this one:
http://www.aftermathzone.com/

I did however find an extreme amount of favourism and not a whole lot of original ideas when I was playing. Maybe it was just me but that's the way it seemed.

Furry Paws :: http://furry-paws.com/
it's solely focused on canines (real-world species), but you can raise, train and even breed them. Own a shop and you can sell stuff, or a training yard to get income... it is a rather slow site, however.. probably because they're a low-scale project and only have a few servers.

This one is more of an advertisement than a site, buts it's very well done. I like the homes and furnishings alot.

These two were new sites that seem to have gone under already, don't know if they will be back up and running or not.

with all this downtime, other pet sites are looking increasingly attractive... *checks out calvin's links*

EDIT: um, on second thought, I think I'll just stick with neo :P

I think we should wait until the whole thing is on another server or w/e, and see how it goes... for all we know, it could turn out better than expected...

...wait...

...less players = more chances for me to get rare stuff...

Let's visit those other sites!

I quite enjoy http://www.adoptme.com

they only have a few pets to choose from but it is kind of fun. Although limited in scope.

http://www.subeta.org/ is actually quite good. No battledome, but it still has basically the same stuff neopets does and it has good art too.

[shameless plug]
There's a website that I'm going to be writing plots for in the near future. I'm not sure about it's current status just yet (whether it's open or not), but if it isn't open then it should be very soon.

http://www.marapets.com
(Featuring first-ever four-player battledome! :P)
