Great PHP scripts - Database needed

#1 Post by Yoshiteru »

For your front page
e107 - Easy installation
Dowload: http://e107.org/news.php
Demo: http://e107.org/
PHP nuke - Better than e107 i think, but a longer installation time, you have to manually run sql queries
Dowload located at: http://phpnuke.org/
Demo: http://hackunleashed.net/ or phpnuke.org

Forums
PHPBB: Fun, ppt uses it, easy modded
Dowload: http://phpbb.com/
Demo: http://hackunleashed.net/phpbb/ : This forum : http://phpbb.com/phpBB/
Support: http://phpbb.com/phpBB/

Invision Power Board: REally easy to install, basic concept of chmod, trial version is good enough, you really do not need full
Dowload:http://www.invisionboard.com/download.cgi?subc=trial
Downsides: Not as easy to mod
Demos: http://hackunleashed.net/forums/

Hows about YaBB?(http://www.yabbforum.com/) and vBulletin board(http://www.vbulletin.com/)? And about the CMS's, have you ever seen the likes of Post-Nuke or other things?

Have you ever seen Aardvark topsites?

Do you even know what PHP stands for?

I agree with that guest. Open your eyes a bit they are the easiest but not the best vbulliton is in my view my best but you have to pay for it. Also i find that people think phpNuke is more proffesional. As for news posting give learning php ago and try and make your own news script they are not rearly that hard when you know what your doing.

actually nothing up there is hard to make (however, creating a forum from scratch can be a little tricky at times).
The thing i dont like about PHP Nuke is all of the security risks and too many people use it :).
Another great BB is wtcBB (http://www.webtrickscentral.com).
I have also heard that Mambo is a great CMS, however, I have never used it.
Since these are no longer temporary forums, I will update my signature.
