Please read the following message carefully.

Ok, I just logged in and I get a request to be my neofriend from 96milkman69. I'm like ok. (it's normal)

The he sends me a neomail:
Quote:
i saw your shop and i thought it was interesting. will you be my neofriend?

I'm thinking, he wants to be my neofriendso he could buy from my shop. ok

then there is another neomail:

Quote:
hi, himynameistim. froggy_rock told me your name is tim qin, but im not sure. froggy_rocks told me about you. you have 2000000 np right? thats what i heard.

So now, I'm feeling a little creeped out, because I don't know anybody by froggy_rocks.

Then, I get a neomail from trixy23194:

Quote:
ummm 96milkman69 told me to tell u to neomail him

This is weird. Somebody is sharing my personal information with other people.
Then I ask who 96milkman69 is. he replies.

Quote:
will you be my neofriend? froggy_rocks is my neofriend.

I ask again.

Quote:
will you be my neofriend? froggy_rocks is my neofriend.

I ask what froggy_rocks name is

Quote:
i am 96milkman69 and froggy_rocks is my neofriend. that is the answer. i think i should call you timtim. your name is tim, right?

I then ask for his real name

Quote:
his name is DVD. i want to be your neofriend. sometimes i get stuff i don't need and i give it to neofriends. froggy_rocks has 1m so he doesn't need anymore. froggy_rocks said your old account was frozen, so i thought that you could use a pile of sludge or can of neocola or something. i could also get quest stuff for you if you need my help.

This last message is what spooked me. I think that this 96milkman69 person, might be a hacker of some kind. What should I do?

:o Umm well I think the best thing to do would be to just block them all from neomailing you.

You should also proabably change your password and then scan your computer for viruses.

I just scanned with my computer virus scanner and Norton Antivirus scanner, it turns out that there are none. Well, I have a firewall so it'll be very hard to get into my computer.

There's one reason I blocked neofriend requests.I get them from people I don't even know or have talked to.There was this person who was posting "I love _bubbabubba_!" on the message boards one time.I had thought they were using that code where it shows whoever is looking at it's username but when I actually went in there come to find out people were telling them to just neomail me and stop spamming and stuff.Very odd.

I wouldn't get too freaked out--though neomails like that are unnerving.

If your username is actually himynameistim or something similar, your pets are named tim, and/or you have your real name (which I assume is Tim) in your userlookup, then he probably two and two together and deduced your name to be Tim.

My guess is he saw your shop or pets (are they painted?) and length of time you were on and surmised that you had a lot of nps and guessed at the 200,000K.

And, figured that you might be some little kid that he could "muscle" into giving him free stuff. I just looked at his shop and just from the stuff he wrote there, you can see that he is a loser and a beggar.

Best thing to do is to block all of those users who neomailed you. And, for peace of mind, change your password on both your Neopets account and your email account.

And, get rid of your real name in your user lookup. I did that after someone freaked me out when I got an email saying that I had requested my password (I was on the account at the time I got the email). I had my real name in my user lookup and then realized that my email address is my real name with the @XYZ attached at the end. Call me paranoid, but maybe there are people out there who see your name, put a @aol.com after it and see if it works. Then say they can't remember their email password, so they get the secret question--and then guess at that for awhile. And, once they are in, they can then get your "lost" password.

Tested made this fabulous set for me!!! Isn't it great?

Does anything on your account have the name Tim on it? Or do you belong to a guild where you have given out your name on the forums?

If you are the person who got the sinsis sword that Shifty was talking about, then it makes sense that these creeps would target you. Your username was made public and you just got a very valuable item. Sad to say but some people have nothing better to do than try to victimize others. Trust me, I know, my daughter went through a similar round of emails when she first started playing.
