Wow, that was a scary movie. It was really good, well done, excellent acting by Jhonny Depp, Oompa Loompas were good, but Willy Wonka was really scary. He was a mix between Michael Jackson, a 5 year old and a mentaly unstable murderer.

Really? I thought more of a Kid's Show Host/Edward Scissorhands.

The movie was good and funny. It certainly brought back old memories I thought I had put behind me (I was terrified of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory when I was younger and watching this reminded me why).

I didn't much like the parts about Wonka's life though. They just seemed sort of tossed in but I had to laugh when he said, "Sorry, I just had a flashback." Its sort of ironic though that Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory seemed to focus more on Charlie, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory seemed to focus more on Wonka.

I really didn't like the oompa loompa song-and-dances though. They were too flashy or something and I couldn't really make out what they were saying because I was getting too distracted by the oompa loompas themselves. Bah.

I loved the squirrels though! They were so cute :P And I think they hit the nail on the head with the problem of having a nice clean and pretty transparent glass elevator. And Depps portrayal of Wonka was terrific and creepy. The kids were more hideously mannered too. I think I cracked up everytime they showed Augustus Gloop. Oh my gosh, and the puppet hospital XD They didn't have the squares that turned round though. That upset me.

Square Candies that look round.

But they don't look round they look square!

They most certainly do look round, didn't you see it?

(What they meant was that the square candies looked AROUND. That was one of the funniest things in the book. I didn't get it at first, myself. Where I am from people look around, not 'round. )

I have a problem with this movie, currently. :P

One of my friends is a huge Johnny Depp fan, so she's dragging me to see that movie. But I looked at the trailer and ...well, I hate it already. So I'm hoping something might come up that would mess up her plans to ruin my mood for that day. 0:)

Oh, I loved that part. Hopefully it'll be on the DVD.

The classic Willy Wonka is on C5 today in England, so I can watch that and then go and see the new one whenever it's out over here.

Squeeee.

I might be going to see the movie today. I really do want to.
I love all of Tim Burton's films and Johnny Depp is one of my favorite actors (Did y'all know his first movie was "A Nightmare On Elm Street" back in 1984?).
I love the movie from 71 even though it strays from the book which I also love. The musical numbers were awesome (Singing "I've Got A Golden Ticket" in my head). My favorite line was one someone quoted in this thread already: The suspense is killing me. I hope it'll last. Also I love all of the fuss around the world about the Wonka Bars. The guy "telling the computer what it can do with a life time supply of chocolate" is so hilarious!

I went and saw this movie last night and I loved it. It was great. I was ecpecting it to be worse than the original but it was better, in my opinion.

The part I loved was in a flashback, when Willy Wonka told his dad he would run away to the chocolate capitals of the world, and it shows him walking through all those flags. Then the museum guard says the flag exhibit's closing... I thought that was funny.

Hi.

And Danny Elfman. He does the music for almost all of Burton's films. He did all the singing voices of the Oompa Loompas, over and over and over and over...

Boredom, Neopets and Wonka obsessions make Mes do funny things.

So he was responsible for the awful cacophony that was the oompa loompas singing? I personally enjoy nothing more than a large number of loud instruments and voices clashing horribly with one another.

:P I loved the singing! Where was the Oompa Loompa song though?
I loved the movie, it was brilliant, fantastic. I really enjoyed it, I highly recommend it.

I haven't watched it yet, but Johnny Depp looks really freaky in the advertisement I saw on the side of the bus.

That, and I don't think he looks good enough

I might decide to watch it though =).
