I choose 5 fingers but since I know that who ever is asking the question will probably do the 4 fingers and a thumb thing I just go ahead and say 4 fingers and a thumb. -_-

Eh, it can be considered either, but I don't see how the thumb being different qualifies it as a non-finger.

If a thumb isn't a finger, then neither are my index, middle, ring, or pinky... I'll call them fingrettes.
