For those topics one could describe as the forum equivalent of a twinkie. Word games, forum contests and giveaways are all the rage here.

Not as far as i've been taught. All of the definitiions seem to be pointed towards the maximum.

@TWW:
I believe the "rule" was VERY ambigious. I hadn't the slightest clue what the rule actually meant, and i never once thought you were reffering to post count.

Also, what kind of cheating were you trying to stop? i cant really think of any way someone could cheat at this.

I don;t see why people keep saying the rule was unclear. To me, it was pretty obvious that you needed a post count of 200+ to be eligable to win the contest. It's used quite a lot in the set board, and in quite a few contests here too.

Personally, I think TOSO has won fairly and should get all the prize money.

Actually, when I saw the rule, I thought the prize could only be given out to people with below 200 posts in their total post count, because that's what "limit" means.

I don't see how any kind of post count could help with cheating though, so with that part, it could have been stretched to mean that no one person could post more than 200 times in this thread (because one could reason that if one just posts and posts and doesn't let other people post, that would be unfair. However, it's a bit stretched, and it's completely ridiculous because that's so unlikely to happen.)

I really wouldn't mind splitting it. The way I see it, I did practically nothing to get the NP anyways, so it's not like it's a loss.

I assumed that the post minimum limit was in place to keep one of the two following scenarios from happening:
A. Someone browsing across the PPT main site and happening to get on the forums sees the topic, creates an account, and with their first post gets 2007K in Neopoints.
B. Someone creates multiple accounts to get around the posting flood control and posts under six or seven names in the last 10 seconds, trying to get a better chance.

Eh, I plan to be realistic here and not make this a bigger situation than it is. Any member who has been around here long enough should know that a post limit is what I've labeled it as several times allready. I hope I'm not looking like a bad guy or anything, since I *was* the one who created this contest for some fun and to give away neopoints....

Thinking rationally, there is no way a person is going to make 200 posts on one thread, much less 200 posts over multiple accounts within a 24 hour period. It's not that difficult.... so I've decided that since I posted those as the rules of this, the winner is Theonlysaneone. If he wants to PM JCMidore and offer him all the nps or half of it or whatever, it's up to him..... he can go to that. It's up to him. I'm not going to put him on the spot though and ask him to answer that here. He can accept his prize and go on and not bring it up, or he can offer them to JCMidore. Whatever he wants. He doesnt have to say it here though since that's his buisness. Theonlysaneone wins. Horaahhhh.

Congrats, TOSO.

The more I reflect on it, the more I want to apologize for this in the first place due to my misunderstanding. Although I posted it on my first post, in reality I added the last few lines within the last few seconds before hitting submit just incase I was wrong.

When I read the rules, my immediate reaction was thinking what was probably the most naive thought regarding the 200 limit. I'm not going to repost it in it's exactness due to the fact it's been posted by other members throughout this entire thread, but I think one can get the idea. I made a fault, I mistook it.

If I did not honestly and true heartedly think I had a chance to win the prize, I would not have timed myself within the last 5 seconds of the clock and hit submit at 11:59:55.

Instead, the most I would've done is give my congrats, like I am today.

Edit : Random addition to this post. Why must I be cursed with such a masculine name, JC?. I'm female. ): *snaps black marker out and edits 'him' out of Weasel's post* :b

oh jeeze, hehe, i have no idea why I called you a "him".... and it wasnt that i didnt notice... your gender symbol clearly states you were female and I had noticed before I ever typed "him"... guess I just wasnt thinkin'! Sorry! Its so hard to tell and remember peoples gender when they dont say anything gender specific, you dont see a picture, and its generally hard to tell from a username... the only thing we have to go by is a little icon thats barely noticeable!

Tue Jan 02, 2007 2:14 am

Haha, that's okay. XD That little icon is mighty tiny, anyway. I wasn't mad or anything. :D

Lol, JC, it's sad though, now that you have over 200 posts :(

Still congrats TOSO!

yeah, btw i just thought i should point out you have absolutely nothing to apologize for... you entered, and all that meant was that you were inelligible. You didnt cause anything... there was confusion, but thats nothing to apologize about :) dont sweat it.

Thanks everyone for your congratulations! Thanks especially to JC for being such a good sport, and of course to TWW for holding this contest

*Not sure what glomping is, but does it anyway*

So, yeah. Auld Lang Syne!
